Alarm System Basics

An alarm system or security system is designed to detect intrusion of the premises and notify the central station monitoring center. This is done by installing sensors on all of the doors and windows or by installing motion detectors in common areas. When the alarm system is in the armed mode and senses that a door or window has been opened or detects movement from a motion detector it triggers the sirens to sound inside or outside of the home and automatically dials to our 24 hour central station monitoring center. After receiving the burglary signals the central station will first call the premises and ask for the customers password. If the person answering the phone does not know the password or if no one answers the phone the central station operator will notify the local Police Department. After the police department is notified the central station operator will call the pre-selected contact list created by the customer and notify them that there has been an alarm condition on the premises.
These days an alarm system or a security system can do much more than just detect burglary. With the installation of special detectors your alarm system can detect and report burglary, fire, carbon monoxide, natural gas, flooding and low temperature.

Vista 20p

The Control Panel is the heart of the security system. It processes signals from the detection devices connected to it and relays that information to our long island central monitoring center.
Detection devices such as door and window contacts, motion detectors and smoke detectors can be either hardwired to the control panel or be wireless. Wireless devices communicate with the control panel through a wireles receiver.
The control panel is the most important part of the security system and every security system that we install have control panels that are wireless enabled and have the ability to expand for future upgrades.

Door contact

Door contacts are installed inside of the the door frame, when the door is opened a signal is sent to the control panel.
